Today is October 30th! My mom has been awake for one week today. She is a miracle. The nurses said that they never see someone who is totally non-responsive wake up. Not only is she awake she is aware of what is going on around her. The kids have been up to see her a couple of times and she seems to enjoy that. She is moving her fingers on both hands and can move her arms from her elbow down some. She is able to lift her legs from the knee about 2 inches off the bed. She can move her head a bit and she is able to mouth words to us. They are doing therapy with her 4 times a day (twice with physical therapy and twice with cardiac therapy.) to help her build her muscle mass and strength. They also have this ortho chair (think bride of Frankenstein) that they sit her in a couple of times a day. This will help her to get her balance back. She has made amazing strides in just a week. She gets tired very easily so she is not up to having visitors yet. I know that when she is stronger she will love seeing people. As a family we are grateful for all the prayers, thoughts, and help that we have received. Thank you to everyone who is continuing to pray for her and for everyone that has helped me with my kids during this difficult time. She is an amazing lady and she has alot of people rooting for her. I will try to post updates when I can about how she is doing.
