We went to the school for the Halloween costume parade. Several people asked why we don't blog about my mom....hmmm....may have something to do with my perceived lack of time. So here goes:
On Oct 1st my mom and dad were driving home. My mother said that she had a severe chest pain. My dad ended up taking her straight to the firestation so she could be in an ambulance. She had went unconcious so they took her to McKay Dee. At the hospital they did all kinds of tests, EKG, CT scans, chest xrays, blood work, EEG, etc. Everything was coming back normal. There were a few tests that they could not do because she has an allergy to contrast dye. They decided to keep her overnight and observe her because her blood pressure was so low and she was throwing up and complaining about pain between her shoulder blades. My Dad and I left the hospital around 1:00 am and Jenny stayed until 4:00 am. My Dad went up early the next day and they were supposed to do a stress test and an TEE (esophagus type ultrasound). When they did the TEE they discovered that she had an aortic dissection. She was rushed into surgery as this is a life threatening condition.
